Sitting around thinking 'wow i really wish i could keep a diary' I realized something...I have a blog! So now that I'm posting I am at a loss of what to write.
The Miss America 2010 Pageant was aired tonight and it was spectacular. The Miss America Pageants differ so much from the Miss USA/Universe pageants and no one really seems to realize it unless they are really interested in the Pageant circuits or they have actually competed in a pageant. I realized the difference through competing in the smaller Miss Teen NY USA competition. The one major difference that set the two big names apart are TALENT. The girls who competed tonight had talent in singing/dancing, while those who compete in the Miss USA/Universe pageants are simply brains and beauty. Both are truly amazing but what really set me off and many other was when a pageant enthusiast said this "Miss USA vs. Miss America equals Dumb Whores vs. Fugly Geeks" now I'm not sure where to start with the hilarity of this statement or the stupidity? Either way it was infuriating to hear. Dumb whores in no way describe the amazing contestants of the Miss USA contestants, yes some title holders may have made some mistakes but they did own up to them and faced them head on and it in no way writes off their whole character or tarnishes the reputation of the other contestants or the spirit of the pageant themselves. Describing the Miss America contestants as Fugly Geeks, is a contradiction in many ways, the contestants tonight were the epitome of beauty and nothing short of it, and had intelligence shining right from the words they spoke. Its hard to understand where this person was coming from because across the board what they said was just stupid, theres no way to justify it, its hilarious to see the ignorance in people, it help give my brain a good work out.
